Software Engineer, C++
At Lendurai, we enable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to operate independently of global navigation satellite systems and radio control, using computer vision and machine learning. We partner with multiple UAV manufacturers to deliver cost effective capabilities to public sector and defence customers. Our core team has substantial experience in aerospace engineering and developing computer vision applications across Europe, including at companies like Bolt, Ericsson, and Milrem.
As a Software Engineer on the SW Platform team, you will be responsible for the hands-on design, development and testing of firmware and software enabling Lendurai’s autonomous drone solutions. This role requires a strong production experience with C++; you will deliver reliable code in a environment and continuously contribute to the development of the product.
What you will be doing
Develop and maintain software and firmware platform that enables our products to leverage visual guidance and machine learning for advanced drone capabilities
Port our software platform to various hardware and software combinations based on market demand and technical requirements.
Develop and maintain tooling related to testing, development, provisioning, and manufacturing of Lendurai’s products
Set up, improve and maintain infrastructure for software development (CI/CD, automated testing, backend services, etc)
Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement APIs and 3rd party integrations (RESTful APIs, data processing, ground control stations, etc)
Work with stakeholders to map critical workflows (e.g pre-flight, in-flight, post-mission) into an intuitive and powerful UX.
We are looking for
Required skills:
Fluency in C++14/C99 on Linux; strong grasp of multi-threading, performance profiling, and GPU/CPU memory constraints.
Built and shipped across different engineering domains: software, firmware/embedded.
Demonstrated capability of picking up and delivering in unfamiliar domains, quick learning
Additional skills that are nice to have:
Track record designing controller- or touch-first interfaces that remain usable under stress and glare.
Familiarity with at least one cross-platform UI/graphics stack (Unreal, Unity, Qt/QML, Vulkan/OpenGL ES, Dear ImGui).
Experience with realtime video feed processing (e.g GStreamer, ffmpeg).
Low-level Linux device optimisation: power management, GPU driver tuning, buildroot/Yocto.
Knowledge of PX4/Ardupilot and concepts like SITL, MAVLink protocol.
Built or supported UAV, robotics, or mobile autonomy platforms in the field, not just in a lab.
Backend development (worked with HTTP, RESTful APIs, databases, or similar)
What we offer
Monthly gross salary of €4,500-6,500, based on experience and impact.
Ability to shape Lendurai’s operational foundation as an early hire.
A high-ownership role at the intersection of UAV operations, autonomy, computer vision, and defence technology.
A mission-driven team that values curiosity, and a hands-on approach to solving defense challenges
Early technical influence in a growing defense tech startup
Join Lendurai to help build the operational backbone for the next generation of resilient UAV autonomy.
